6/12/08 So now that the Democratic Race is over we are left with a choice of two. One doesn’t follow the parties ideologies, the other is an unknown with ties to racism and Muslims. Great!
It is our right to vote. It is what our Solders and Sailors, Marines and Airmen have fought for. To pass on the chance is lapse of patriotism. How can you vote when you don’t care for either? Well, there are the “other parties” candidates. A snow balls chance for any of those candidates to come to power. Not wanting to waste my vote, I will proceed to support my parties choice.
So what’s with the “white guilt” topic line? I really just want everyone to do some sole searching about why you would vote for an unproven politician. Is it because he represents the “change”? Is it because he represents the Democratic Party well? Or is it because you have White Guilt? Are you going to vote for a black candidate because you want to “do your part” for equality?
Just remember what one of the men that represents the molding of his values said, ” God Damn America”. People don’t stray far from their values in everyday life. And they don’t budge from them in moments of crisis. Is this our new Commander in Chief? Is our countries strength worth a vote in the wrong direction?
Just some thoughts. Remember, Patriotism is Never Part Time. Think about that on election day.

I’m glad you are going to vote despite your concerns with both candidates. Since this nation has never had a real opportunity to vote for a person of color, I think one would have to consider what the consequences of that vote would mean. However if Obama was not black, was editor of law review, graduated from Harvard law, had the corporate legal opportunities he had, was involved with underserved communities, elected to the Senate, and ran a successful campaign to win the Democratic nomination-I wonder how he would be responded to by the media? Because he would have the credentials of so many past political and corporate leaders……except none of them was black.

Only one thought. We are not choosing a limited experience political leader or corporate leader, we are electing the most powerful person in the free world, the Commander in Chief of the greatest country on the globe. Black, brown or grey, we need the strong to lead the strong.
